The beach is an amazing place to have a wedding. Who could ask for more of a magnificent backdrop? New Smyrna Beach not only is a beautiful beach but a beautiful beach town. There are multiple venues to have a celebration which range from romantic beach side to secluded barns. We have been fortunate to be a part of many events and they have all been so amazingly different. Setting a dessert table that enhances the theme and style of the event is a passion. Making delicious cakes and doing it in this town has been a dream come true.
This past month there have been a great variety of parties, and we have had fun with all of them. As you can see just taking a minute and trying to make something as simple as a cupcake into something special is really not too difficult. From kids to adults everyone seems to like cupcakes. No cake cutting, having a variety of flavors, adding to the decoration of the table, all make cupcakes a great hit. Adding a special decoration on the cupcakes to compliment the party theme is fun to do. Adding some liquor to the cake or a shot on the side is a great way to kick things up a notch. Keep it simple or go all out. We have many ideas to help give your party a POP and with the holidays coming up there will be many parties to host and attend. Look around at the next party you attend you may find one of our newest creations on the table.
Turning 1 is a big day! Lots of milestones have been met and the anticipation of many more to come. This event is sometimes when baby gets to taste sweets for the first time. This smash cake is the before pics and unfortunately I don't have any that shows how much the little guy enjoyed getting his hands into it but I'm sure he had a great time. The party had a beach theme so the surfboards and sharks added to the fun. We made some alcohol infused cupcakes for the adults at the party to help them make it through a very energetic party of toddlers! These happen to be Strawritta and Hennessy. It is important to make all the decorations on cupcakes and cakes for children edible. These were made from fondant. Even though they can be eaten they should be removed if not age appropriate.
In Florida it is hard sometimes to really feel the different seasons when you are looking at the thermometer, especially in a coastal town when it is fun in the sun every day. I just love Fall and the calendar says it is almost here! School is back in session, the days are getting a tiny bit shorter, football season and so much more that this season brings. Family, events, parties, celebrations, gifts....all will need some planning and preparation. Don't add to the stress by not being prepared. Cupcakes are great for parties or celebrations. They're easy to handle, so many varieties and not just the ordinary cake that is served. Cupcakes make a great gift also. A thoughtful thank you to your staff, colleagues or teachers. They can be simple or extravagant but I can guarantee they will surely please. Pumpkin, Spice, Banana, Chocolate Caramel or Eggnog maybe. Add a little zip and include rum, cognac or maybe Baileys. At BC Cupcakery the ideas keep flowing and are always willing to add your favorite to our list. Order soon!

Spring is in full swing. Seeing everything in full bloom with new growth is a special time of year. BC Cupcakery is in its springtime as well. We have left our current Orlando location for a temporary one in the same area but soon to have a permanent location at New Smyrna Beach in the Fall of this year. During the transition we are open and taking orders now as always! We are so excited to get to know some new cupcake lovers but hope that our faithful friends will still look us up as well in New Smyrna Beach this Fall. Just call and we will have your order ready to pick up when you are heading over to spend time on the beach. Some favorites this time of year are Lemon Meringue, Key Lime, Blueberry Compote or maybe a Black Forest. We are excited about our new chapter and will be posting more as the time nears with any additional exciting news. Happy Spring!
The Winter Park Farmer's Market was such a perfect place for a rustic, vintage style wedding reception for this bride and groom. The weather was not ideal but you would have never known it by seeing how much fun everyone was having. We tried to carry out the rustic, vintage theme that was requested with the tablescape for the cupcake/cake display and I think it was well received. The cupcakes that Cassandra chose were Chocolate Mint, Chocolate Banana, and Churro which I believe were a hit since there were hardly any left behind! Congratulation and best wishes for the new bride and groom!
Elisabeth and Michael were such a joy to work with. The selections of cakes they chose were very different and fun for me as a baker. The cupcakes were vanilla cake with blueberry compote, a black forest and a apple spice. The cutting cake was a white chocolate with a raspberry compote filling done in the naked style. This was all so fitting with the style and location of the wedding. The style was rustic and woodsy and relaxed and fun. Her bridesmaids were gorgeous and I actually got to see the bride and groom (which is rare) during the photo shoot - absolutely stunning. The venue is a hidden gem. The Acre Orlando is a rustic, beautiful venue tucked away in College Park. You have probably driven by and didn't even know it was there. You walk through the gates and enter a tranquil, beautiful setting just perfect for any celebration. I would highly recommend considering them for your next event. Elisabeth and Michael, again all the best in your future.
Two of the sweetest kiddos you ever want to meet (who happen to be my niece and nephew) have birthdays pretty close together so when they celebrated together and I was lucky enough to make them cakes for their celebration! Liam is a fan of dinosaurs as you can see and Bailee is such a fan of Shopkins we decided to make her a cake in honor of her growing collection. Their excitement and enthusiasm was contagious which made for a memorable party that was enjoyed by all.
That is the perfect way to describe this wedding. When I met with Gabi and Alysia they said they wanted
the theme of the reception to be elegant and timeless. I used that vision for the display and it was beautiful!
The Crystal Ballroom is the perfect venue for an occasion as this. It couldn't have been more elegant. The decor and colors they chose couldn't have been more beautiful. They partied the night away and I believe the
cupcakes were well received as there was hardly a crumb left. Gabi andAlysia, congratulations to you both!
